Open position: Communications Lead for MyData Global

We are looking for an experienced professional to join our team. We work for the inevitable shift towards human-centricity in the digital era by facilitating collaboration between business, public sector, academia and civil society innovators.

You are able to work mostly online and flexible working hours. You are open and understanding of different cultures.

The role

You will be largely responsible for the communications strategy, website renewal project, outreach activities, press relations and social media. You have an essential position in the organisation and get to be involved in the strategic part of the work.

Other responsibilities include:

Audience engagement

  • Working with the team to create content for the newsletters, website and social media channels
  • Developing content to support our cases and projects 
  • Developing our brand visual identity guidelines 
  • Writing compelling copy
  • Bring our work to life across multiple mediums


  • Develop media and press coverage around our cases and projects
  • Drafting and coordinating press releases and briefings to the media 
  • Building contacts with journalists around the world and developing existing relationships, maintaining internal records

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar position
  • An interest in digital rights, digital business, personal data and a fair digital society
  • A clear, creative and concise communicator in English – verbally and in writing, on the level of a native speaker
  • An ability to deliver quality work on deadline
  • Thorough understanding and experience with of various types of media
  • A track-record of getting media coverage on challenging issues 
  • A self-starter / able to work independently
  • Willingness to support other members of a small team as required
  • An ability to think and act strategically
  • Able to simplify – communicate about complex issues in an understandable way
