SUMMARY:MyData Principles- open collaboration meeting-Sept 22
DESCRIPTION:THIS IS A TWICE-MONTHLY OPEN FORUM TO DISCUSS UPDATES TO THE MY DATA PRINCIPLES\, IN PREPARATION FOR THE MYDATA CONFERENCE \n\n\n\nDear MyData Members. \n\n\n\nWe live in complex and changing times. In such situations\, having guiding principles that are clear enough to point us to where we want to go\, while flexible enough to allow us to navigate the unpredictable challenges that may arise\, is paramount. \n\n\n\nThe Principles in the MyData Principles Declaration are our guide. With this\, we coordinate our efforts and initiatives to develop a more human-centric future. However\, our Declaration has had a few years and while it served us well\, we have already started to work on it’s update. \n\n\n\nThe MyData Conference will be the perfect setting to discuss in person. But we also need time to read\, think and discuss it\, each by itself\, and together. This can be done in real time and also asynchronously. \n\n\n\nWhile each person decides when and where to take that it’s individual and async time\, we are inviting you all to a fortnight meeting to do it in real time: the proposal is to get to know each other\, understand our individual and collective needs and thoughts\, discuss and define our next MyData Principles. \n\n\n\nBecause this is not another formal document: it will be our collective guide for the next 5 years. This is why we ask you to read it\, leave out the implementation details (the how)\, and let’s meet online to define\, together\, the fundamentals (the what). \n\n\n\nThe invitation is each 2nd and 4rth Monday\, at 12:00 UTC\, for 55 minutes\, at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85014794466. \n\n\n\nThe rules are simple. A MyData facilitator will help us during the meeting\, and we will: \n\n\n\n\nrecord the sessions for other members to follow.\n\n\n\nhave a check-in where we very briefly present ourselves.\n\n\n\ncreate and consent our agenda based on everyone’s proposals.\n\n\n\nwork on the agenda points\, together or in parallel\, as we define.\n\n\n\ntake notes of the work done.\n\n\n\nclose with a synthesis and a check-out to see what went well and what we want to change for the next meeting.\n\n\n\n\nBetween sessions\, we have the Slack channel to keep thinking and working together\, and all notes will be shared on a document. \n\n\n\nAny questions and/or proposals\, please write me at eduardo@mercovich.net and I will be very happy to help. \n\n\n\nI hope to see you then and there. \n\n\n\nWarm regards\,Eduardo Mercovich\, member of the MyData Global Board \n\n\n\nPS: as with any videoconference\, the 1st time you log in you will have to give your browser permissions to access the camera and microphone.

DESCRIPTION:In today’s rapidly evolving landscape\, creativity alone is no longer enough. Whether you’re a creative professional\, business\, training organisation\, network\, or policymaker\, future success depends on our ability to adapt\, innovate\, and lead through change. \n\n\n\nWhat is Cyanotypes?\n\n\n\nFunded by the Erasmus+ Programme\, CYANOTYPES is a strategic skills initiative designed to empower professionals in the cultural and creative industries (CCIs) with the competences needed to thrive in a digital\, sustainable\, and ever-changing landscape. \n\n\n\nWhy participate?\n\n\n\nTraditional training models often fall behind shifting skills demands. Inspired by the historical cyanotype photography process\, known for its adaptability and creativity\, CYANOTYPES responds by offering a cutting-edge\, competence-based framework that aligns with European standards. It provides customisable learning pathways to foster adaptability\, innovation\, and resilience. \n\n\n\nThe CYANOTYPES project has developed a flexible and scalable competence Framework structured around five key thematic clusters\, supported by a Train-the-Trainer Toolkit that helps educators\, professionals\, and organisations in delivering adaptable and high-impact learning experiences. \n\n\n\nIf this resonates with you\, we invite you to join our onboarding webinar on 27 May to explore the opportunity to become a CYANOTYPES Pilot Runner—leading an innovative learning journey to embed future-proof competences into the creative sector. \n\n\n\nCYANOTYPES can support you to: \n\n\n\n✅ Bridge skills gaps in digital\, green\, and societal transitions \n\n\n\n✅ Test pioneering approaches such as Triple-Loop Learning \n\n\n\n✅ Empower professionals\, trainers and learners with the skills that matter for tomorrow \n\n\n\nBy piloting CYANOTYPES\, you will become part of a European-wide initiative\, shaping creative education through cutting-edge methodologies and strategic foresight. Let’s work together to shape a more inclusive\, adaptive\, and future-ready creative sector. \n\n\n\n📅 Interested? Let’s discuss how a pilot could support your goals. Sign up for the onboarding webinar to learn more and take your first step toward piloting. \n\n\n\nSpaces are limited\, so we encourage you to register early to secure your place. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMyData Global is a project partner of Cyanotypes. SUMMARY:MyData Town Hall - EU Roadmap - report back from EC roundtable
DESCRIPTION:This Town Hall will review our draft Roadmap for the European Commission\, intended to inform and support the Commission’s work to define the European Data Union Strategy\, which will guide EC policymaking and implementation in the years to come.We will begin the Town Hall by discussing the draft Roadmap we presented to the EC in our closed roundtable earlier this month. Our key assertion there was that a human-centric approach of empowering the individual user\, consumer and citizen with control over data about them is the best way to ensure that measures for European digital sovereignty and competitiveness are aligned with European values. SUMMARY:MyData Online Symposium: Human-centric AI between Innovation and Compliance
DESCRIPTION:**Video recording and presentations were sent to participants. MyData Members can access them via member opportunities and resource board (login required).** \n\n\n\nRecent developments in AI have sparked both enthusiasm and concern about people’s privacy and digital self-determination. The EU has introduced landmark legislation to address these risks\, but it remains unclear how this regulation will be implemented and what its practical implications will be for companies and individuals. At the same time\, several technology providers are actively innovating with novel AI applications to empower individuals and help organizations meet their legal obligations. The signalling effect of EU legislation and the borderless character of digital technologies suggest a complicated relationship between regulatory and business activities in Europe and abroad. \n\n\n\nThis online symposium will take stock of the rapidly evolving AI landscape\, both in terms of technologies and regulations. Expert speakers will offer perspectives on key aspects of the AI ecosystem\, covering ethics\, law\, business innovation\, and human empowerment. The expert presentations will be followed by a moderated discussion on the implications of European regulation and innovation for the rest of the world. \n\n\n\nParticipation in the symposium is free\, but registration is required to save a spot. \n\n\n\nJoin the symposium\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAgenda:\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nTIME (CET)TopicSpeakers9.00-9.15Opening session9.15-10:45Global trendsSpeakers will present the latest trends and developments in ethics\, business\, and regulation\, and how they shape the potential for a human-centric approach to AI.Tobias Bräutigam\, partner at the law firm Bird & BirdVirginia Ghiara\, Senior Research Manager at FujitsuJamie Smith\, Founder at Customer Futures10.45-11.00Break11.00-12.00Innovation at the edge:A presentation of use cases and business cases at the bleeding edge of a human-centric approach to AI.Harri Ketamo\, Founder and Chairman at HeadaiYngvi Karlson\, Co-founder & CGO at Kin AIKai Kuikkaniemi\, Co-founder and Head of Product at Cadentia TechnologiesTuomas Syrjänen\, Co-founder and Chairman at Futurice12.00-13.00Lunch and networking:Break with optional facilitated networking13.00-13.45Empowering Individuals & Society \nin the Age of Generative AI:A facilitated conversation between three leading thinkers about how we should make sense of the current environment\, and what we can do to strengthen the potential for individual empowerment and social value in the age of generative AI.Astha Kapoor\, Director of the Aapti InstituteNitin Sawhney\, Professor of Practice at Aalto UniversityMiapetra Kumpula-Natri\, Finnish parliamentarian and former EU MEP13.45-14.00Closing session\n\n\n\nSpeakers: \n\n\n\nInfo of more speakers will be added later. \n\n\n\nTobias BräutigamData Protection and Regulation Partner\, Bird & Bird Visit Website (opens in a new tab)Visit LinkedIn account (opens in a new tab)\n\n\n\nVirginia GhiaraResearch Manager\, Fujitsu Visit Website (opens in a new tab)Visit LinkedIn account (opens in a new tab)\n\n\n\nJamie SmithFounder\, Customer Futures Visit Website (opens in a new tab)Visit LinkedIn account (opens in a new tab)\n\n\n\nHarri KetamoFounder and Chairman\, Headai Visit Website (opens in a new tab)Visit LinkedIn account (opens in a new tab)\n\n\n\nYngvi KarlsonCo-founder & CGO\, KIN AI Visit Website (opens in a new tab)Visit LinkedIn account (opens in a new tab)\n\n\n\nKai KuikkaniemiCo-founder and Head of Product\, Cadentia Technologies Visit Website (opens in a new tab)Visit LinkedIn account (opens in a new tab)\n\n\n\nTuomas SyrjänenCo-founder and Chairman\, Futurice Visit Website (opens in a new tab)Visit LinkedIn account (opens in a new tab)\n\n\n\nAstha KapoorCo-founder\, Aapti Institute Visit Website (opens in a new tab)Visit LinkedIn account (opens in a new tab)\n\n\n\nNitin SawhneyProfessor of Practice\, Aalto University Publications: – Role of AI Regulatory Sandboxes and MLOps for Finnish Public Sector Services (2023)– Emerging AI Discourses and Policies in the EU: Implications for Evolving AI Governance (2023)– Enhancing Conversations in Migrant Counseling Services: Designing for Trustworthy Human-AI Collaboration (2024) Photo credit: Saku Metsärinne Visit Website (opens in a new tab)Visit LinkedIn account (opens in a new tab)\n\n\n\nMiapetra Kumpula-NatriMP in the Parliament of Finland\, ex-MEP at the European Parliament Visit LinkedIn account (opens in a new tab)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nClick here to join the Symposium\nBecome a MyData Member\n\n\n\nIn case the button doesn’t work\, check out the details to join belowLink to join the Zoom Meeting:https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87958889213?pwd=R0h543eeZJRMCvoqjl4ecFxzIZoXFi.1Meeting ID: 879 5888 9213Passcode: 616856—Find your local number: https://us02web.zoom.us/u/kcjXQ2BiwT \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSponsors\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBecome a MyData Member\n\n\n\n\nDownload our member benefits brochure.\n\n\n\n Not a MyData member yet?
