SUMMARY:MyData Explainer: lessons from Europe's biggest digital identity experiment
DESCRIPTION:Please register for the event. The report “What We Learned from Europe’s Biggest Digital Identity Experiment” will be shared with attendees after the event. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis explainer webinar will present lessons and insights drawn from analysis of the EUDI Large Scale Pilots that tested the European Digital Identity Wallet in over 1\,300 interoperability scenarios\, issued more than 1\,500 credentials\, and engaged hundreds of real users in production-ready transactions. Based on analysis conducted by Meeco after the Pilot’s conclusions in 2025\, this webinar will present the four Large Scale Pilots and their outcomes\, and what they mean for policymakers\, regulators\, innovators\, and consumers. The Webinar will be led by Katryna Dow\, CEO of Meeco\, together with CPO Jan Vereecken\, and will include time for questions and discussions.   \n\n\n\nMeeco is a longstanding MyData member and has been awarded the MyData Award each year from 2020 to 2025. \n\n\n\nJoin the webinar\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIf the button doesn’t work\, please see the following details to join:Zoom meeting link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81909944616?pwd=QI29ormpHwBhAEToP6K02cS6M3BAIL.1 \n\n\n\nMeeting ID: 819 0994 4616Passcode: 970572 \n\n\n\n*Image background photo by Christian Lue on Unsplash. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBecome a MyData Member\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nJoin our global community to build a human-centric digital future. SUMMARY:Personal data and AI in East Asian Countries: A comparative view through the IDEA framework
DESCRIPTION:Global Seminar Series: Digital Rules\, Human Values \n\n\n\nOrganised by the Global Initiative for Digital Empowerment (GIDE)\, in collaboration with the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI)\, MyData Global\, and the Global Solutions Initiative (GSI)\, the series examines how to translate principles into policy and practice. \n\n\n\nThe series brings together global leaders and practitioners exploring how digital governance can better serve human welfare. Each session focuses on practical ways to build digital systems and markets that are accountable\, inclusive\, and aligned with human values. \n\n\n\nEpisode Five of Digital Rules\, Human Values examines how personal data markets and AI development are evolving across leading East Asian economies. \n\n\n\nThe IDEA framework is designed as a universal framework. Yet countries differ in digital infrastructure\, regulatory capacity\, institutional design\, and levels of technological development. This session offers a comparative view of how governance approaches in East Asia are shaping data and AI ecosystems – and how the IDEA framework can support more human-centred digital economies across diverse systems. \n\n\n\nSpeakers• Paul Twomey\, Co-Chair\, Global Initiative for Digital Empowerment; former CEO of ICANN• Charles Mok\, Research Scholar\, Stanford University; former Hong Kong Legislative Council Member (ICT) \n\n\n\n📌 Important: We are slightly adjusting our usual time slot.To accommodate our speaker in US Pacific Time\, this episode will take place at 8 PM UTC. \n\n\n\nParticipate in a global seminar connecting experts\, policymakers\, and practitioners shaping the future of digital governance. Have your say in each seminar! \n\n\n\nRegister here

SUMMARY:Digital Empowerment in Practice: From the MyData Declaration to MyTerms
DESCRIPTION:Digital Rules\, Human Values Seminar Series\, Episode 6 \n\n\n\n18 March 2026 | 12 PM UTC | 1 PM CET | 7 AM US EST | 5:30 PM IST | 11 PM AEDT \n\n\n\nLet’s rethink digital governance through human-centred market mechanisms. The IDEA framework is designed as a universal framework. Yet countries differ significantly in digital infrastructure\, regulatory capacity\, market structure\, and levels of technological development. \n\n\n\nAround the world\, individuals generate vast amounts of personal data but rarely have the ability to benefit from it or control how it is used. The MyData Declaration calls for putting people in control by creating infrastructure\, rules\, and platforms that empower individuals to access\, understand\, manage\, and share their data on their own terms. \n\n\n\nIn this webinar\, the MyData community and the Global Initiative for Digital Empowerment will explore how these principles translate into practice. The session will introduce ways to participate in MyData community thematic groups and activities\, and will highlight work to implement the MyTerms Standard (IEEE 7012) that enables individuals to set their terms for data sharing in online interactions. \n\n\n\nSpeakers: \n\n\n\n\n– Dr. Paul Twomey\, Co-Chair\, Global Initiative for Digital Empowerment\, former CEO of ICANN.\n\n\n\n– Christopher Wilson\, Executive Director\, MyData Global\n\n\n\n\nLearn more about the IDEA Framework: \n\n\n\n\n– IDEA framework presentation\n\n\n\n– Policy brief: Ensuring regulatory simplification drives innovation and growth\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister now

SUMMARY:Data Processing in Digital Projects
DESCRIPTION:The webinar will be led by Olga Nielsen\, CEO of the Nordic Data Compliance Centre (NDCC)\, a MyData organisational member. This session provides a hands-on exploration of how to achieve secure data processing in digital projects. It also outlines what is required for secure sharing across the controller–processor–sub-processor chain beyond contractual arrangements and explains how to build compliance step by step from the initial project idea through to go-live. The session is interactive\, giving participants the opportunity to engage\, ask questions\, and discuss their own real-world cases. The webinar is free of charge.
