Nicolo Zingales will give a special presentation entitled “Competition and Data Protection Law: Friends or Foes?
This presentation will provide an overview of the points of contact between two different areas of law that have important bearing on the notion of power and the right to informational self-determination. We will map out ways in which competition and data privacy interact (positively or negatively), bring up notable examples of these interactions, and illustrate ways in which the underlying values can be reconciled through inter-institutional collaboration and adequate governance measures.
The below materials are suggested by Zingales to become familiar with the topic ahead of time.
