Join the MyData 2023 conference team as a marketing & communications intern!

We are currently an international team looking for a marketing and communications intern to join our conference production team! We are passionate professionals from diverse backgrounds and we’re looking for someone who will share our values of openness, co-creation, and accountability, and who will enrich our culture of dreaming big, getting things done, and having fun.

MyData 2023 is an international leading conference for and by personal data experts. We are the flagship event for the global MyData community, whose goal is to create a fair digital society for all. MyData 2023 will be held on May 31-June1 in  Helsinki Finland.

Job title: Marketing & Communications Intern

Employment type: Internship. Preferably three full months till early June. 

Expected start time: Early March. (Dates negotiable)

Salary: 1500€/month. Applicants must have an university internship/traineeship grant to subsidise the employer 1800 EUR total (3 months) for the internship. 

Location: Preferably Helsinki. Our office is in Helsinki but the position can also be remote as long as there is the ability to be in Helsinki, Finland at least once per week.

About MyData conferences

MyData conference started in 2016 as an international get-together for personal data specialists. It continues to become an annual event, mainly face-to-face, that gathers experts and professionals from all over the world to share insights, newest trends, latest developments of personal data management.

Key requirements: 

Do you know how to create engaging content that makes people laugh, think, interact, and understand? We are looking to welcome a new team member whose skills include (but are not limited to!) 

  • Digital marketing and communications skills  in various channels
  • Content creation
  • Basic WordPress skills
  • Video and image editing skills 
  • Excellent collaboration skills

As communications and marketing intern, you will develop and execute our communications and marketing strategy for the conference (and related activities) with the support of the team. Additional tasks will depend on your interests, development goals, and skills.

  • Knowledge of human-centric approaches to personal data

  • Creativity to present new ideas 
  • Ability to follow brand guidelines and tone of voice
  • Basic knowledge of event production

Flexible working hours

We offer a dynamic and exciting working environment based at the startup hub Maria 01 in Kamppi, Helsinki. You’ll also join an active and diverse global community who live and breathe ethical personal data. Daily working hours are flexible and working remotely is possible. We are a very flat organisation and you will be encouraged to give your input in all the different aspects of organising an international conference.
